The Frankfort Plant Board, a 60-year-old municipal utility (Electric, Water, CATV, and Telecommunications) in the capital city of Kentucky is recruiting for the following positions.

Custodian

The successful candidate will perform routine custodian duties and minor maintenance to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment.

Qualified applicants must have at least 7 to 11 month’s related work experience and be able to follow oral and written instructions.  Must possess and maintain a valid Kentucky driver’s license.

Media Specialist

The successful candidate will design, develop and implement marketing materials through various mediums including print, television, web and social media.

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field supplemented by three years of directly related work experience. Must be able to work additional hours during evenings and weekends (trouble call).

Cable Apprentice Installer

The successful candidate will assist in the installation, removal, and maintenance of wiring and equipment for the delivery of cable/telecommunications services.

High school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, 12 to 18 months related experience in customer service, consumer electronics, electrical or computer experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 

Must complete NCTI Digital Installer certification and Computers and Broadband Modems or equivalent during first year of employment in the class.  Must successfully complete pole-climbing training during first 6 months of employment. The candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and must to be able to respond to emergency situations at all hours.

 We offer $13.72 hourly plus an excellent benefits package including Health, Dental, and Vision insurance and membership in the KY Retirement System.  All applicants must be able to successfully complete drug screening and background investigation.

Water Distribution Operator I

The successful candidate will perform skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work on the potable water distribution system.

 Graduation from high school or equivalent.  Must possess and maintain a valid Kentucky driver's license.  Must obtain a valid Class A CDL issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky during first year after appointment to the class.  Must be able to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours.

Water Treatment Plant Operator I, II, III, or IV

The successful candidate, upon attaining a Class III or IV license, will be in responsible charge of the daily operation and maintenance of the water plant, including start-up and/or shut down of the plant and equipment.

Graduation from high school or equivalent.  An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an environmental or related field is preferred if the candidate does not possess a Class III or IV license.  Candidates must possess and maintain the Water Treatment Plant Operators License issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and must possess and maintain a valid Kentucky driver's license. This position will require working days, evenings, weekends and holidays.  Must be able to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours.  Compensation will be based on qualifications.
