Hydrant Flushing for 6/29/18

Hydrant flushing is necessary to maintain the integrity and quality of the distribution system and to ensure hydrants are functioning properly. This will also allow FPB to obtain firefighting flow information, which is shared with city and county fire departments. 

We ask that motorist please use caution in the flushing area due to possible water in the roadway. Some discoloration may occur in your tap water. This is normal. If discoloration persists after running your faucet for a short time, please call 352-4372.

We will be flushing hydrants in the following areas on 6/29/18:

Holly Hill

Parts of the National Guard

Governors Place

Chenault Rd.

Commerce Blvd.

Water Service Interruption and Boil Water Advisory - 6/11/18

The water has been turned off at 501 High Street in order to repair a water main break. Once repaired, the Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board advises to boil the water before drinking or using it for cooking.

A vigorous boil for at least two minutes is recommended. This Boil Water Advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the water main caused by Plant Board crews repairing the water main break.

This Advisory will remain in effect until lab analysis of water samples taken confirms that the potable water supply in the effected area is safe to drink. You will receive a notice when this advisory is lifted.

Boil Water Advisory Cancelled - 6/5/18

The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board is notifying you that the Division of Water of the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection has now cancelled the Boil Water Advisory.

This Advisory was issued 6/4/18 due to the loss of pressure in the water main caused by a contractor damaging the water main.

The areas affected were:

·       Beckham Ave

·       Lookout Ave

·       Smith Ave

·       258, 260 Lyons Dr

Boil Water Advisory - 6/4/18

The water was turned off in the following areas in order to repair a damaged water main. The Frankfort Plant Board advises to boil the water before drinking or using it for cooking. The advisory is in effect for the following areas:

·       Beckham Ave

·       Lookout Ave

·       Smith Ave

·       258, 260 Lyons Dr
