Weekend Events

This Saturday, Frankfort Regional Medical Center is sponsoring a multi-event fundraiser for Kentucky Pink Connection, to help raise awareness and support the fight against breast cancer. 

Almost everyone is touched in some way by breast cancer. Family, co-workers, neighbors and friends  - we all know someone who has battled or is currently battling this disease. This Saturday there is a great event to raise awareness and funding to fight cancer. Pink Out Frankfort.

Frankfort Regional Medical Center is hosting the multi-event fundraiser so go support KY Pink Connection Saturday morning. There is a motor cycle run, classic car show, Western Hills and Franklin County are  co-hosting a volleyball tournament, there is pumpkin painting sponsored by Cap City Communications, Arts and Crafts, food…and all of the proceeds go to KY Pink Connection – travel to appointments, help navigating the doctor, prognosis, treatment path, wigs for those loosing hair after chemo – anything people need and can’t afford during their battle – KY Pink Connection provides. Sweet & Smokey Almond Popcorn


2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup hickory smoke flavor almonds
5 cups popped popcorn


In a large saucepan or pot, heat sugar and water over medium heat. 
Cook about 3 minutes or until sugar is melted and mixture is bubbling, stirring occasionally.
Stir in butter until melted and well blended. 
Stir in popcorn and almonds until well coated. 
Remove from heat and allow to cool before serving. 
Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
