Q: What is Speedpay?
A: Speedpay is a third-party vendor that provides electronic payment service to FPB customers. The service provided gives customers the freedom and convenience to pay their bill when and how they want, using their checking account, Visa, MasterCard or debit (ATM) card.
Q: When can I use Speedpay?
A: Speedpay is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Q: How long does it take before my payment is deducted from my banking account?
A: Your payment will be deducted from your banking account in about 24 to 72 hours.
Q: Is there a charge if I use Speedpay to pay my FPB bill?
A: Speedpay charges a convenience fee of $3.95. FPB does not receive any portion of the convenience fee. The fee, which is in addition to your FPB bill payment, is paid directly to Speedpay for providing this service to our customers.
Q: Why is there a fee associated with this service?
Other companies are able to add the price of payment processing to what they charge for their goods and services. As a regulated utility, FPB is not able to do that. Thus, charging the processing fee to only the customers who use the Speedpay service is an equitable way to cover the cost of this convenient payment option.
Q: What information do I need to use Speedpay?
You need your FPB account number and your mailing address Zip code. If paying by credit/debit card, you will also need your credit/debit card billing zip code if different from your mailing address.
Q: Will I receive a confirmation or receipt of payment if I use Speedpay?
When making payments over the phone, you will receive a confirmation number at the end of the transaction. If you use Speedpay online, a confirmation page will be provided at the end of the transaction. Please record this confirmation number for future reference.
Q: My transaction was rejected, what should I do now?
1. Verify that you entered your checking, debit card number, or credit card number and expiration date correctly.
2. Contact your credit card company or banking institution for further information.
Q: Do I have to enroll in Speedpay before I use it?
Speedpay does not require enrollment or subscription. Speedpay can be used as needed, whereas enrollment is required for FPB's Automatic Bill Payment service.
Q: If I have been disconnected for non-payment, what should I do?
You should contact a FPB customer service representative to coordinate your Speedpay payment and your service re-connection.
