FPB MOVES FXX to Classic Cable Lineup

Frankfort Plant Board Classic Cable customers are about to receive an eXXtra channel!

FXX will move from FPB Preferred Cable channel 161 (High Definition on 661) to Classic Cable channel 59 and 559 in HD. The move takes place Friday afternoon (May 30).

FXX is known for airing popular FX programming and hit movies. FPB Cable-Telecom Superintendent John Higginbotham believes the move will make viewers very happy. “FX has a very loyal audience. The addition of FXX to the Classic Cable lineup gives customers another network where they can enjoy popular shows. We are delighted to move FXX to our Classic Cable lineup.”

FXX airs comedy series like, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, “Ali G Rezurection” starring Sacha Baron Cohen, “The League”, “Arrested Development” and “Rescue Me”. FXX offers a host of popular movies, including: “Tropic Thunder”, “21 Jump Street”, and “We Bought a Zoo”.

In an additional lineup change, Universal HD will move from the HD Plus tier to Classic Cable. Universal HD will now be seen, in HD only, on channel 599. Formerly on channel 773, Universal HD is known for top flight movies, sports and series. WWE RAW, PGA golf and adventure sports like skateboarding and freestyle biking headline the sports lineup. Series’ like “House”, “Burn Notice” and “Law and Order” lead a lineup of many popular shows. Customers will need an HD advanced set top to view Universal HD.

Secure Website Issues

Some FPB Internet Customers have been experiencing difficulty connecting to secure websites over the last couple of days.  Today we discovered the source of the problem to be with one of our upstream providers.  This upstream provider has scheduled an emergency maintenance window to correct the problem for midnight tonight (Friday at 12:00am).  We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused some of our customers

SEC Network Negotiations

FPB fully anticipates making this service available to you

Frankfort Plant Board (FPB) is in active negotiations with ESPN/Disney/ABC Family to continue carriage of a host of networks. FPB’s current agreement expires July 31, 2014. The negotiations include carriage of ESPN's new service, the SEC Network, and FPB fully anticipates making this service available to you, our valued customers, when the SEC network launches on August 14, 2014.

The SEC Network (also known as the SEC ESPN Network) is an upcoming cable college sports network dedicated to coverage of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The network will be operated by ESPN as part of a 20-year partnership, and feature coverage of SEC sports, along with news/analysis programs and other content focusing on the SEC's member schools. SEC Network will air events across the 21 sports that the conference sponsors; within its first year, the network and its digital outlets plan to broadcast at least 1000 live events, with at least 450 on television. Yearly, the network will broadcast approximately 45 football games, 100 men's basketball games, 60 women's basketball games, and 75 baseball games. For football, SEC Network plans to air three Saturday games per week in early, afternoon, and evening windows.

Boil Water Advisory Canceled

The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board is notifying you that the Division of Water of the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection has now canceled the Boil Water Advisory.

This Advisory was issued 5/20/14 due to the loss of pressure in the water main caused by a contractor damaging the water main.

The streets affected were:

  • 120 to 108 Schenkel Ln
  • Allnut Dr
  • 588,592,614,616,662,664,676,670 East Main St.
