Boil Water Advisory

The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board advises to boil the water before drinking or using it for cooking. The advisory is in effect for the following area:

2693 to 3721 Peaks Mill Rd

A vigorous boil for at least two minutes is recommended. This Boil Water Advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the water main caused by a water main break.

This Advisory will remain in effect until lab analysis of water samples taken confirms that the potable water supply in the effected area is safe to drink. You will receive a notice when this advisory is lifted.

UPDATE: SEC Network Negotiations

Frankfort Plant Board (FPB) is in active negotiations with ESPN/Disney/ABC Family to continue carriage of a host of networks. FPB’s current agreement expires July 31, 2014. The negotiations include carriage of ESPN's new service, the SEC Network, and FPB fully anticipates making this service available to you, our valued customers, when the SEC network launches on August 14, 2014.

The SEC Network (also known as the SEC ESPN Network) is an upcoming cable college sports network dedicated to coverage of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The network will be operated by ESPN as part of a 20-year partnership, and feature coverage of SEC sports, along with news/analysis programs and other content focusing on the SEC's member schools. SEC Network will air events across the 21 sports that the conference sponsors; within its first year, the network and its digital outlets plan to broadcast at least 1000 live events, with at least 450 on television. Yearly, the network will broadcast approximately 45 football games, 100 men's basketball games, 60 women's basketball games, and 75 baseball games. For football, SEC Network plans to air three Saturday games per week in early, afternoon, and evening windows.

FPB Cable-Telecom Service Update

FPB Cable-Telecom customers in the Silverlake area should have service restored. FPB C/T services were reported back up as of 9:05. If you're in this area and have power but no C/T services, contact FPB at 352-4372 to report problem.

Two consecutive days of storms are keeping our Cable-Telecom crews very busy....we appreciate your patience while we work these trouble calls over the weekend.

FPB Electric Service Repair Update

FPB Electric is working to restore power to various areas. In order to make the repairs, FPB will perform a necessary power interruption in a large portion of our eastern service area. The areas include: Silver Lake I and II, Two Creeks, and the entire area from 460, Spaghetti Junction to Georgetown Rd. The necessary outage should last approximately 15 minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Cable-Telecom Service Update

Late afternoon storm damage is affecting cable telecom service. Kentucky Utilities has damage around Steadmantown and Georgetown Rd. FPB Cable Telecom crews are on the scene but it may be several hours before FPB Cable Telecom services will be restored in the Silverlake area.

Bluegrass Energy is also reporting a power outage in the South Benson area of Franklin Co. FPB Cable Telecom crews are in the area and when power is restored, we will work to restore FPB services as quickly as possible.

FPB is aware of the multiple service issues. Our call center is currently inundated with calls. We appreciate your patience as we work to restore service.

Storms Cause Service Issues

Due to severe storms, FPB customers may be experiencing service interruptions. Most of the electric interruptions are in the eastern portion of the service area. Two Creeks, Country Lane, Silver Lake and Indian Hills are some of the impacted areas. FPB Cable-Telecom customers may also be experiencing issues throughout the service area, due to severe weather. FPB crews are working multiple areas.
