Channel 19 Weatherscan Update

The Weather Channel advised FPB this afternoon that they are completing the authorization process on the replacement unit for channel 19 and plan to ship the device to FPB Friday.  FPB expects to receive and install the receiver and return Weatherscan to channel 19 next week. We will provide updates when the receiver arrives.

Continued patience by our customers is greatly appreciated by FPB as we wait for Weatherscan to complete their work.

Weatherscan Channel 19 Update

FPB continues to ask for customer patience while it works through an equipment problem for Weatherscan on channel 19.  FPB will resolve the technical issue upon receiving and installing replacement equipment from Weatherscan.  Once installed, FPB will restore Weatherscan to channel 19 with 24/7 current conditions, local forecast and radar.  Until that time, FPB will continue to run a simulcast of The Weather Channel from channel 49 on channel 19. Thank you again for your patience while we make repairs.

Weather Scan

We are experiencing issues with our local weather scan on FPB Cable channel 19. Theses technical difficulties will be repaired early next week. Until the repairs are made, FPB is running a simulcast of The Weather Channel (FPB channel 49) on channel 19. As is the norm for The Weather Channel, local weather will be running on the ā€œ8sā€ of every hour. We apologize for any inconvenience.

FPB Schedules Infrastructure Maintenance

Beginning Monday, December 1, FPB Cable will begin upgrading cable, telephone and broadband infrastructure in the Thornhill, Wilkinson Blvd. and Blanton Acres areas. The upgrades are needed in order to replace aging equipment.  Customers should expect outages on a street-by-street basis for up to two-hours at a time. Outages will typically start after 7:30a.m. and end by 3:00p.m. each day with all services being restored by the end of each work day.  FPB expects to complete the upgrades in these areas by Friday, December 12. FPB thanks its customers for their patience during these necessary upgrades.

SCAM ALERT

FPB customers should be aware of a possible scam involving a home repair business. We have received reports of groups in various neighborhoods approaching homes and claiming to be conducting a free home energy leakage assessment on behalf of FPB. They want to test windows, door, etc. for energy loss and eventual replacements windows. FPB has no affiliation with any group claiming to be working on our behalf. Please be aware of this possible scam and remember FPB is not supporting any such program with individual contractors. If you have any questions, please call 352-4372.
