Boil Water Advisory

The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board advises to boil the water before drinking or using it for cooking. The advisory is in effect for the following area:

• Grandview Dr from Elkhorn Dr to Laffoon Dr

• Laffoon Dr from Elkhorn Dr to Grandview Dr

• 229 and 235 Elkhorn Dr

A vigorous boil for at least two minutes is recommended. This Boil Water Advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the water main causedby Plant Board Crews repairing a water main break.

This Advisory will remain in effect until lab analysis of water samples taken confirms that the potable water supply in the effected area is safe to drink. You will receive a notice when this advisory is lifted.

Hydrant Flushing for 6/17/16

FPB Water crews will be flushing fire hydrants at the following locations on Friday, June 17:

  • Indian Hills
  • Discher Estates
  • The Oaks
  • Heritage
  • C M Davenport

Hydrant flushing is necessary to maintain the integrity and quality of the distribution system and to ensure hydrants are functioning properly.  This will also allow FPB to obtain firefighting flow information, which is shared with city and county fire departments. 

We ask that motorists please use caution in the flushing areas due to possible water in the roadway.  Some discoloration may occur in your tap water; this is normal.  If discoloration persists after running your faucet for a short time, please call 352-4372.

Hydrant Flushing Locations for 6/16/16

FPB Water crews will be flushing fire hydrants at the following locations on Thursday, June 16:

  • The Maples

  • Indian Hills

  • Kings Daughter Dr.

  • Cardwell Ln.

  • Augusta Subdivision

Storm Related Electric Outage

Due to storm related damage in the downtown area, FPB Electric crews will be making repairs.  In order to make the repairs, there will be a planned outage beginning around 7:25. Impacted areas include North and South Frankfort. Some of the specific areas include: Todd St. to the river, Captial Ave. to the river and parts of Main and Second St. We apologize for the inconvenience due to the necessary, storm related issues. 

FPB Cable-Telecom Planned Maintenance Window Scheduled for June 15

FPB Cable-Telecom crews will conduct planned maintenance service interruptions in multiple neighborhoods Wednesday, June 15. The interruption is needed to relocate significant fiber infrastructure along East Main Street in conjunction with the construction of the KSU Pedway Bridge.

FPB has committed tremendous amounts of resources and time in assisting KSU and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in their joint project. This June 15 maintenance is the final piece of FPB’s significant work on this project.

The maintenance will take place Wednesday, June 15 from 5:00AM until 3:30PM in the following areas:

  • KSU campus

  • Valley View Dr.

  • Obrien Ave.

  • 313 – 327 East Main St.                                         

  • Langford Ave

  • Cold Springs Ave

  • Missouri Ave

  • Hardy St.

  • Maryland Ave

  • St. Charles

  • 545 – 594 East Main St. will be out from 5:00am to 7:00am.

Approximately 500 homes in these areas may see cable, internet and telephone service affected or interrupted during this window.

    Hydrant flushing is necessary to maintain the integrity and quality of the distribution system and to ensure hydrants are functioning properly.  This will also allow FPB to obtain firefighting flow information, which is shared with city and county fire departments.

COMPLETED: FPB Cable-Telecom Planned Maintenance Outages Scheduled for June 11

Update: 6/11/16 - 10:35am 

All fiber work has been completed. Any service interruptions have now ended. Channels 10, 510, 20, 26, and 27 are now back on the air. Thanks for your patience during this maintenance window.

The maintenance will take place Saturday, June 11 from 4:00AM until 4:00PM in the following areas:

  • Old Peaks Mill School Area
  • Steadmantown Ln.
  • Holt Ln.
  • Justice Ln.

Cable, internet and telephone customers in these areas may see service affected or interrupted during this window.

This maintenance will also create programming interruptions for all customers on FPB Cable channels 10, 510, 20, 26, and 27 between 4:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on June 11.
