Weekend Highlights

Friday - In Kentucky, they say “Basketball Never Sleeps”….for University of Kentucky fans, basketball season officially begins with Big Blue Madness. Watch all of the action on SEC Network, FPB Classic Cable channel 34 and in HD 534, from Rupp Arena beginning at 7:00pm.

The FPB Football Game of the Week crew will be at Sower Field for a district battle between the visitors from Holy Cross High and the host Frankfort High Panthers. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm. Playback on FPB-TV (FPB Cable channel 10 and in HD on 510) is Tuesday at 8:00pm.

Friday – Sunday - Go back in time at Days of Knights, A Medieval Experience. Days of Knights will be a historically accurate re-creation of several time periods from the era known as the Middle Ages.  Visitors will be able to walk through a time-line encampment featuring living history enthusiasts re-creating the Norman invaders of Britain in 1066, crusaders from the 1200s, archers and knights from the 100 Years War, and many others. Saturday – Kentucky State University Homecoming. The annual parade begins at 9:30am and will start its route from the Capitol. The homecoming football game versus Miles College kicks off at 2:00pm at Alumni Stadium, featuring the halftime performance of the KSU Thorobred Band. Sunday – The Cincinnati Bengals travel to Foxboro to take on Tom Brady and New England Patriots. The NFL matchup kicks off at 1:00pm on CBS, FPB Cable channel 6/5-6 and 12/512. Also, other NFL action can be seen on FOX, with a double header featuring Washington and Philadelphia at 1:00pm and Dallas at Green Bay at 4:00pm. Catch all of the action from every game on NFL Redzone, FPB HD Plus channel 775. The NFL Sunday Night Football Game on NBC will have the Indianapolis Colts at the Houston Texans. NBC is on FPB Cable channels 3/503 and 7/507.

FPB Cable-Telecom Planned Maintenance Outage Scheduled for Friday

FPB Cable-Telecom crews will conduct planned maintenance service interruptions in designated parts of the service area in an effort to migrate the existing cable-telecom infrastructure from the current headend facility into the newly constructed cable-telecom headend.

The necessary service interruptions will continue Friday, October 14.  Staff plans to minimize voice, video and data outages on a neighborhood by neighborhood basis for as short a time as possible but customers should plan on outages between 9:00am and 2:00pm during the maintenance windows. Some outages may be up to two hours in duration.

FPB Cable-Telecom crews will conduct planned maintenance service interruptions in designated parts of the service area in an effort to migrate the existing cable-telecom infrastructure from the current headend facility into the newly constructed cable-telecom headend.

The necessary service interruptions will continue Thursday, October 13 and Friday, October 14.  Staff plans to minimize voice, video and data outages on a neighborhood by neighborhood basis for as short a time as possible but customers should plan on outages between 9:00am and 2:00pm during the maintenance windows. Some outages may be up to two hours in duration.

Singing Bridge Repairs/Closure Continues

FPB Electric crews are conducting necessary maintenance that requires the continued closure of the Singing Bridge.

The bridge is closed to vehicle traffic now through 11:00pm Thursday, October 13th.  The closure is for the purpose of replacing the deck lighting on the bridge.

Pedestrian traffic is available on the bridge’s sidewalk.
