FPB Cable-Telecom Planned Maintenance Outages Continue Overnight

FPB Cable-Telecom crews will conduct planned maintenance service interruptions in designated parts of the service area in an effort to migrate the existing cable-telecom infrastructure from the current headend facility into the newly constructed cable-telecom headend.

The necessary service interruptions will continue Friday, October 21.  Staff plans to minimize voice, video and data outages on a neighborhood by neighborhood basis for as short a time as possible but customers should plan on outages between 12:01am and 6:00am during the maintenance windows. Some outages may be up to two hours in duration.

Friday’s impacted areas: Leawood Dr., Louisville Rd., Thistlewood Ave., Crosshill Dr., Collins Ln., Ridge Rd., Raintree Rd., Two Creeks Subdivision, Capitol Plaza Tower, Fountain Place, Mero St., Douglas Ave., Langford Ave., Valley View Dr., East Main St., Cold Harbor Dr., College Park Dr., Athletic Dr., Maryland Ave., Old Glenns Creek Rd., Cold Spring Ave.

The migration to the new facility will improve network reliability for customers and allow for enhanced service offerings in the future.

Large Power Outage in East Frankfort

FPB Electric customers in the eastern part of the service area may be experiencing a loss of service. The outage covers a large area, including Holmes St to Country Lane Estates and Two Creeks. FPB crews are aware of the issue and working to restore service. 

Weekend Highlights

Friday - In Kentucky, they say “Basketball Never Sleeps”….for University of Kentucky fans, basketball season officially begins with Big Blue Madness. Watch all of the action on SEC Network, FPB Classic Cable channel 34 and in HD 534, from Rupp Arena beginning at 7:00pm.

The FPB Football Game of the Week crew will be at Sower Field for a district battle between the visitors from Holy Cross High and the host Frankfort High Panthers. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm. Playback on FPB-TV (FPB Cable channel 10 and in HD on 510) is Tuesday at 8:00pm.

Friday – Sunday - Go back in time at Days of Knights, A Medieval Experience. Days of Knights will be a historically accurate re-creation of several time periods from the era known as the Middle Ages.  Visitors will be able to walk through a time-line encampment featuring living history enthusiasts re-creating the Norman invaders of Britain in 1066, crusaders from the 1200s, archers and knights from the 100 Years War, and many others. Saturday – Kentucky State University Homecoming. The annual parade begins at 9:30am and will start its route from the Capitol. The homecoming football game versus Miles College kicks off at 2:00pm at Alumni Stadium, featuring the halftime performance of the KSU Thorobred Band.
