FOX hiking rates at 10 times rate of inflation

If no contractual agreement is reached Tuesday, some channels may go dark.

On behalf of the Frankfort Plant Board and hundreds of other cable companies across America, the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) is currently in negotiation with Fox Corporation to continue to offer their cable networks including FOX News Channel, FOX Business, FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 to our customers. NCTC represents FPB and other independent cable companies in order to secure contracts with networks at the lowest price possible. These negotiations affect more than a million viewers.

The NCTC is attempting to reach a fair agreement, but FOX is demanding an enormous rate increase that is more than 10 times the rate of inflation. We cannot agree to unreasonable terms and rate increases that will directly impact our customers’ monthly bills.

If NCTC is unable to reach an agreement before Tuesday, December 31, at 11:59 p.m., FOX may force us to remove their cable networks from our lineup.

Since 2004, FOX has increased rates for Fox News Channel by almost 800 percent. It is not fair that our customers continue to absorb these rate increases while multi-billion-dollar companies make record profits. We are fighting on our customers’ behalf to keep costs down.

Please visit http://tvonmyside.com/frankfort-plant-board/to find the latest information on discussions with FOX.
