Notice of scheduled electric outages due to voltage conversion

The Frankfort Plant Board is conducting electric voltage conversions in parts of Frankfort. This will require temporary outages in the following areas:

  •  Wednesday, Sept. 8: Buttimer Hill and Taylor Ave from approximately 8-10 a.m.

  • Saturday Sept. 11: Ewing St. to Capital Ave. and Second St. to Lafayette Dr. from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

  • Wednesday, Sept. 15: Reservoir, Commonwealth, Capital Heights, Altamont, Hay, Crescent, Owsley, and east side of Tanglewood from 8 until 10 a.m. Crews will also put door hangers in the area to notify customers.

Boil Water Advisory Ridgeview

The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board advises to boil the water before drinking or using it for cooking. The advisory is in effect for the following area:

·      Jeremy Dr

·      Joshua Ct

·      Cedarcrest Ct

·      Ashwood Ct

 

 

 

A vigorous boil for at least two minutes is recommended. This Boil Water Advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the water main caused by Plant Board crews repairing a water main break.

 

This Advisory will remain in effect until lab analysis of water samples taken confirms that the potable water supply in the affected area is safe to drink. You will receive a notice when the advisory is lifted.

Ridgeview Dr Water Outage

At this times we are currently experiencing a water outage in the Ridgeview Dr. area. This is affecting Ridgeview, Locust Ridge, North Ridge, Blue Ridge, and Cedar Ridge areas. Customer are reporting no water or very little water coming out of the faucets. Crews have been dispatched at this time to resolve this issue and quickly and safely as possible. Thank you for your patience.

KyMEA savings spurs $5.2 million return for customers since 2019

FPB electric customers are seeing a rebate on their bills this month. The Board of Directors is returning $1.6 million this year to eligible FPB electric customers in the form of a credit on August bills. Since 2019, previous rebates for customers have totaled $3.6 million.

FPB officially switched wholesale power suppliers from Kentucky Utilities (KU) to the Kentucky Municipal Energy Agency (KyMEA) on May 1, 2019. This move has produced ongoing savings for the company and its customers, which has produced $5.2 million that has been returned to customers since the switch.

To be eligible for the rebate, one must have been an FPB electric customer on May 1, 2021, which marks the beginning of the third year of wholesale power savings with KyMEA. All eligible customers will receive a credit based on the total dollar value of their electric bills from May 2020 through April 2021 as a percentage of all FPB electric customer bills for the same period.

One must be an FPB electric customer when the electric rebate credit is issued to receive the credit. Based on this structure, average residential customers will receive approximately $30 in rebate credit to their August bills.

Hydrant Flushing Locations for 8-24-2021

FPB Water crews will be flushing fire hydrants at the following locations on Monday, August 24th.

  1. East Main

Hydrant flushing is necessary to maintain the integrity and quality of the distribution system and to ensure hydrants are functioning properly. This will also allow FPB to obtain firefighting flow information, which is shared with city and county fire departments.
