Cable/Internet/Telecom Outages - 04/13/2022

The following areas are experiencing Cable/Internet/Telecom outages:

  1. Collins Ln: Louisville Rd - Leawood Dr

  2. Ridgewood Ln, Spring Hill, Valley Brook, Woodhill Ln

  3. Peaks Mill: Owenton Rd - Peaks Mill Rd - Steadmantown Ln

  4. Switzer: Georgetown Rd - Colston Ln - Lucas Ln

Most of these areas are affected due to power outages. Once the power has been restored in these areas, cable/internet/telecom services should be restored as well.

FPB Hydrant Flushing Locations for 4/13/2022

FPB Water crews will be flushing fire hydrants at the following locations on Wednesday, April 13:

  • Corporate Drive

  • Millcreek Dr.

  • Cold Harbor Dr.

  • Flynn Ave

  • Athletic Dr.

  • Taylor Ave

  • Buttimer Hill

  • Bellpoint Area

Hydrant flushing is necessary to maintain the integrity and quality of the distribution system and to insure hydrants are functioning properly.  This will also allow FPB to obtain firefighting flow information, which is shared with city and county fire departments. 

We ask that motorists please use caution in the flushing areas due to possible water in the roadway.  Some discoloration may occur in your tap water; this is normal.  If discoloration persists after running your faucet for a short time, please call 352-4372.

  • Duncan Rd.

  • Hilltop Meadows

  • Industrial Park III

  • Capital View Park

  • West end of South Frankfort

  • Steele St.

Annual hydrant flushing to begin next week

The Frankfort Plant Board will begin its annual hydrant flushing on Monday, April 11, 2022. FPB Department of Water crews will service fire hydrants throughout Frankfort and Franklin County over the next few months. Flushing is necessary to maintain the integrity and quality of the distribution system and to ensure hydrants are functioning properly. This will also allow FPB to obtain fire-fighting flow information, which is shared with the city and county fire departments.

 

We ask that motorists please use caution in the flushing area due to possible water in the roadway. Some discoloration may occur in your tap water. This is normal. If discoloration persists after running your faucet for a short time, please call 352-4372.

  • Glenns Creek Rd. area

  • McCracken Road area

  • Steele Street area

Frankfort Plant Board Receives Honorable Mention for Outstanding Safety Practices

One hundred thirty-five utilities have earned the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) Safety Award of Excellence for safe operating practices in 2021. Frankfort Plant Board has achieved Honorable Mention in Group E of the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) 2021 Safety Awards of Excellence.

FPB And 317 other utilities from across the country entered the annual Safety Awards. Entrants were placed in categories according to their number of worker-hours and ranked based on the most incident-free records during 2021. A utility’s incidence rate, used to judge entries, is based on its number of work-related reportable injuries or illnesses and the number of worker-hours during 2021, as defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

“In our industry, safety is the top priority,” said Bob Scudder, Chair of APPA’s Safety Committee and Industrial Hygiene and Corporate Risk Manager at Grand River Dam Authority. “This is a commitment that needs to come from the top down and permeate every aspect of operations. These awarded utilities have embraced this priority, and they deserve to be celebrated”
