Downtown Cable-Telecom Maintenance Window tonight

FPB Cable-Telecom crews are going to be performing work this evening (12/13/2016) to permanently restore service in the downtown Frankfort area as the result of a vehicle taking down some cable and fiber lines this morning.

The impacted area includes: South Frankfort East of Capitol Avenue and the area adjacent to Fountain Square, Civic Center, Capital Plaza Hotel, and YMCA.

The maintenance window will occur between 6pm and 9pm this evening.

UPDATE 2 - Downtown Cable-Telecom Outage

FPB Cable-Telecom crews have determined emergency repairs to restore temporary service in the downtown Frankfort area will be closer to 1:00 p.m. Crews had originally hoped to have the temporary repairs completed by noon. Additional work to make permanent repairs will take place later today.

The impacted area includes: South Frankfort East of Capitol Avenue to the river, the downtown business district, and the Holmes Street area down to Phillips Street.

FPB Cable-Telecom crews continue to make emergency repairs to restore service in the downtown Frankfort area as the result of a vehicle taking down some cable and fiber lines. FPB anticipates the restoration of service on a temporary basis by noon. Additional work to make permanent repairs will take place later today.

The impacted area includes: South Frankfort East of Capitol Avenue, the downtown business district, and the Holmes Street area. Other areas might also be affected and crews will identify those area as work continues.

Boil Water Advisory Cancelled

12/11/16 - The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board is notifying you that the Division of Water of the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protectionhas now canceled the Boil Water Advisory.

 

This Advisory was issued 12/10/16 due to the loss of pressure in the water main causedby Plant Board crews repairing a water main break.

 

The streets affected were:

 

• Laffoon Dr

• 229 and 235 Elkhorn Dr

• Grandview Dr from Elkhorn Dr to Laffoon Dr

Water Service Interruption and Boil Water Advisory

The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board advises to boil the water before drinking or using it for cooking. The advisory is in effect for the following area:

 

 

• Laffoon Dr

• 229 and 235 Elkhorn Dr

 • Grandview Dr from Elkhorn Dr to Laffoon Dr

 

 

A vigorous boil for at least two minutes is recommended. This Boil Water Advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the water main causedby Plant Board Crews repairing a water main break.

 

This Advisory will remain in effect until lab analysis of water samples taken confirms that the potable water supply in the effected area is safe to drink. You will receive a notice when this advisory is lifted.

FPB Congratulates Bill Wallace on His Retirement

Bill Wallace was hired by the Frankfort Plant Board in June of 1989 as a Grounds Foreman. Mr. Wallace retired from FPB as Building/Grounds Supervisor in December 2016 with 27 years of service. In his capacity, virtually every employee knew Mr. Wallace as he routinely visited the various FPB office sites as he performed his duties.

FPB administration and staff congratulate Bill Wallace on his many years of service and wish him good health and happiness in his retirement.

Reminder: FPB Cable-Telecom Planned Maintenance Outages

FPB Cable-Telecom crews will conduct planned maintenance service interruptions in order to make improvements to the Internet service for all customers on Thursday, December 8.

Customers should plan on outages between 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the maintenance window. FPB video services will be unaffected, but FPB phone and modem customers will experience a temporary loss of voice/data connectivity at some point during this time. 

This maintenance will improve network reliability for customers and allow for enhanced service offerings in the future. FPB appreciates patience during this outage.
