FPB Water Department advises its customers to make special preparations for the extreme cold weather. The potential for private plumbing to freeze is very high with these conditions.
FPB Water Department Tips:
Open cabinets under sinks to allow heat to enter.
Cover any vents and openings to crawl spaces.
Keep a small stream of water running from the cold water faucet. Water flowing in the pipes will prevent freezing.
Locate and tag the water shutoff valve in your home. Knowing where the valve is located and how to shut it off can help prevent water damage in the case of a burst pipe.
Due to weather related issues, FPB Electric customers will be without power for a short period @7:30am in the Thornhill/Holmes St area. FPB Electric crews will be making repairs as quick copy as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Immediately following there will be a Boil Water Advisory.
A vigorous boil for at least two minutes is recommended. This Boil Water Advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the water main caused by Plant Board crews tying in a new water main.
This Advisory will remain in effect until lab analysis of water samples taken confirms that the potable water supply in the affected area is safe to drink. You will receive a notice when the advisory is lifted.
If you have any questions concerning the Boil Water Advisory, please call 352-4372 or 352-4433
