FPB Cable-Telecom Planned Maintenance Outages Scheduled

FPB Cable-Telecom crews will conduct planned maintenance service interruptions in designated neighborhoods in an effort to migrate the existing cable-telecom infrastructure from the current headend facility into the newly constructed cable-telecom headend.

The necessary service interruptions will continue Wednesday, September 28. Staff plans to minimize voice, video and data outages on a neighborhood by neighborhood basis for as short a time as possible but customers should plan on outages between 3:00am and 6:00am during the maintenance windows.

The maintenance windows are scheduled for multiple areas, including: Silver Lake, The Enclave, Jim Beam Distillery, Ravencrest Apts., Franklin County High School, Elkhorn Elementary, Georgetown Rd., Elkhorn Ct., Indian Hills, Norwood, Patricia Acres, Grandview Heights, County Club Heights, Sunset, Bon Air, Cardinal Hills, Country Lane Estates, Hillview Modular Homes, Versailles Rd., Hillcrest, Hickory Hills, Turnberry, Winding Way, Myrtle Ave., Rolling Acres, Prince Hall Village, Eastside Shopping Center, and Crestwood

The migration to the new facility will improve network reliability for customers and allow for enhanced service offerings in the future.

The maintenance windows are scheduled for multiple areas, including: Franklin Heights, east side of Capital Avenue, Logan Street, Lyons Drive, Rolling Acres, Forrest Hill, parts of Indian Hills, Discher Estates, Northwood Road, Millsboro Drive, Blueridge Drive, The Oaks, Buttimer Hill, parts of Downtown, Arlington Heights, parts of Holmes Street, Broadway and Main Street.

The migration to the new facility will improve network reliability for customers and allow for enhanced service offerings in the future.

Water Service Interruption and Boil Water Advisory

The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board advises to boil the water before drinking or using it for cooking. The advisory is in effect for the following area:

 

• 275 to 287 Johnson Ave

• Stevenson Dr

• 315 Versailles Rd

 

A vigorous boil for at least two minutes is recommended. This Boil Water Advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the water main causedby Plant Board Crews repairing a water main break.

 

This Advisory will remain in effect until lab analysis of water samples taken confirms that the potable water supply in the effected area is safe to drink. You will receive a notice when this advisory is lifted.

FPB Cable-Telecom crews will conduct planned maintenance service interruptions throughout the entire service area in an effort to upgrade equipment and migrate the existing internet and phone infrastructure from the current headend facility into the newly constructed cable-telecom headend.

The necessary service interruptions will occur Friday, September 23.  All FPB internet and phone customers could be impacted. It is possible that other services tied to FPB phone service may be impacted. Staff plans to minimize outages for as short a time as possible, but customers should plan on outages between 12:01am and 6am during the maintenance window. 

The upgrades and migration to the new facility will improve network reliability for customers and allow for enhanced service offerings in the future.

Saturday’s Local College Football TV Schedule on FPB Cable

It should be an exciting Saturday for area college football fans.

The hottest team in America, the #3 ranked University of Louisville Cardinals, travels across the state border to West Virginia to take on the Marshall Thundering Herd in Huntington. Kickoff is at 8:00pm and the game can been seen LIVE on the CBS Sports Network (CBSSN). CBSSN is available on FPB Preferred Cable channel 143 and in HD on 643. The University of Kentucky Wildcats look to win their second straight contest, as they host SEC East rival South Carolina. The UK and USC kickoff from Commonwealth Stadium is set for 7:30pm and can be seen LIVE on SEC Network (SECN). SECN is on FPB Classic Cable channel 34 and in HD on 534.

Vanderbilt University makes the short trip up I-65 to take on the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. The kickoff for WKU and Vandy is at 4:30 and can also be seen on CBSSN, FPB Preferred Cable channel 43/643.

College Football Saturday: UofL Hosts GameDay/UK on SEC Alt. Channel/KSU Home Opener

College football fans in the area have a lot of viewing options Saturday.
 
#10 ranked Louisville hosts #2 Florida State University at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Kickoff is at noon and the game can be seen on ABC (FPB Classic Cable channel 8/508 and 11/511).
ESPN College GameDay will be at UofL, live, beginning at 9:00am. ESPN GameDay airs on FPB Classic Cable channel 31/531.
 
UK looks for win #1 as they host New Mexico St. The game will kick off live at 4pm and can be seen on the SEC Alternate Network, FPB Classic Cable channel 97. It is also available for free to all FPB Classic Cable customers on your mobile devices and smart phones via the WatchESPN app.
 
Kentucky State University’s first home game under former UofL head coach John L. Smith is also Saturday. There is a community tailgate sponsored by the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce at Alumni Stadium beginning at 11:00am. Kickoff is at 1:30pm against Virginia St.  The game will air back on FPB TV (channel 10/510) on Friday, September 23 at 8:00pm.

FPB Cable-Telecom crews will conduct planned maintenance service interruptions in the Tanglewood area in an effort to migrate the existing cable-telecom infrastructure from the current headend facility into the newly constructed cable-telecom headend.

The necessary service interruptions will take place Thursday, September 15.  Staff plans to minimize voice, video and data outages for as short a time as possible but customers should plan on outages between 8:00am and 10:00am during the maintenance window.

Streets impacted include: Altamont Dr., Capital Heights Dr., Owsley Dr., Commonwealth Ave., Reservoir Rd., Hay Ave., and Tanglewood Dr.
