Boil Water Advisory Issued - 4/4/17

The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board has announced that on Tuesday, 4/4/17 there will be an interruption of water service from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. in the following areas:

·       1040 to 1055 Riverbend Rd

·       101 Pinnacle Ct Bldg. 4    Apartments 73-96

·       264-294 Pinnacle Ct

Immediately following there will be a Boil Water Advisory.

A vigorous boil for at least two minutes is recommended. This Boil Water Advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the water main caused by Plant Board crews installing two new main line valves.

This Advisory will remain in effect until lab analysis of water samples taken confirms that the potable water supply in the affected area is safe to drink. You will receive a notice when the advisory is lifted.

Frankfort Plant Board moves to replace 130-year-old water reservoir

After considering input from engineering consultants, FPB staff and local residents, the Frankfort Plant Board voted Tuesday night to replace the 130-year-old water tanks at the reservoir site in Tanglewood. The current tanks have reached the end of their service life and in recent years have shown signs of seepage and slippage.

The board considered alternative locations for the reservoir replacement and found that because the existing infrastructure is already in place, the current site proved to be the best and most affordable option for existing and future storage.

“We have a responsibility to all of our ratepayers to ensure fiscal responsibility,” said Chairman Ralph Ludwig. “It was clear that this was the most cost-effective solution which provides the most operational flexibility in the future."

The board heeded comments from residents and rejected a recommendation to move forward with a more economical domed-roof design until more information is provided. The board requested consultation with a tank manufacturer to consider the extra construction and ongoing maintenance costs that would be required for a flat roof. A presentation will be scheduled for the April meeting.

“The board is making every effort to ensure that this is a thoughtful process,” said Ludwig. “It is our goal to keep costs to a minimum for our customers while continuing to provide quality services to this community.”

Is Channel 4 Missing On Your Cable Ready Television?

Now that FPB Marketplace has launched on FPB Cable channel 4, some viewers with cable ready televisions may find that channel 4 does not show up in their listings. If you find this issue applies to you, a re-scan of your cable ready television will be necessary. Please consult your television manufacturer's manual for the correct re-scan procedure. Once the re-scan is complete, channel 4 should then be available in your channel list.

As first reported March 1, FPB's Real Estate Classified (channel 26) and Photo Classified (channel 27) have merged and become FPB Marketplace. Now you can find real estate listings and all other for sale items in one place on FPB Cable channel 4. In cooperation with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the Sheriff's Most Wanted listing is also available on channel 4.

As part of this move, channel 26 is now Charge TV, and soon, channel 27 will be TBD TV. These two channels are broadcast sub-channels from WDKY-TV in Lexington which FPB was required to launch per the terms of the retransmission agreement executed with Sinclair Broadcasting in 2015.
