We are currently experiencing a power outage in the Meadows Subdivision. Some streets affected include; Meadowview Dr, Hawthorne Dr, Parkwood Pl, Wildwood Pl, and Briarwood Pl. Technicians are enroute to resolve this issue as quickly and safely as possibly.
Frankfort Plant Board water staff would like to remind customers that the drinking water is safe to drink following the Jim Beam warehouse fire earlier this week that resulted in runoff entering the Kentucky River.
Some customers may temporarily detect a sweet or bourbon odor and taste in the water; however, it is safe to drink.
FPB staff is aware of this and, with state and local officials, continues to monitor the situation, as public safety and public health remain the priority.
A similar incident last occurred around 2000 when Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg experienced runoff into the river. Customers noticed a change in the smell and taste of the tap water for several days.

Frankfort Plant Board water staff has determined that the Kentucky River can still provide treatable water for drinking after a fire at a Jim Beam warehouse on McCracken Pike this morning near Frankfort. As a result of the fire-fighting efforts, some runoff entered Glenns Creek and ultimately the Kentucky River.
FPB water treatment operators are treating the water and advise that some customers with an acute sense of smell may temporarily detect a sweet or bourbon odor in the water. State and local officials continue to monitor the situation.
“Our priority every day is to ensure public safety and public health,” said FPB Water Treatment Plant Superintendent Julie Roney. “We routinely monitor and sample both the treatment plant and distribution system, with the goal to meet and exceed water standards and to protect our customers.”

The boil water advisory for the area of Highland Parkway from Magnolia Avenue to Lyons Drive has been lifted.
Power has been restored to the area minus the scene of the fire. Thank you for your patience.
There is a power outage in the area of McCracken Pike, Hanly Ln and Deerwood due to a structure fire in Woodford County. The power needed to be cut so that emergency services could work the fire. Power will be restored once they are done. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
A boil water advisory is issued for areas of Highland Parkway due to a service interruption to repair a water main break. The area affected is as follows: Highland Parkway from Magnolia Avenue to Lyons Drive. A vigorous boil is recommended for at least two minutes prior to consumption. The boil water advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the water main caused by repairs. The advisory will remain in effect until lab analysis of water samples taken confirms that the potable water supply in the affected area is safe to drink. You will receive a notice when the advisory is lifted.
The Frankfort Plant Board water department is currently repairing a water main break in the area of Highland Parkway which will result in an interruption of service. Water crews estimate repairs to take approximately two hours. The areas affected are as follows: Highland Parkway from Magnolia Avenue to Lyons Drive. Once water service has been restored, a boil water advisory will be issued.
Power in the area of Shelby St./W. Fourth St. is back on at this time.
