East-West Connector Update

As of 6:30 am, the East-West Connector remains closed from MLK Blvd. to Galbraith Rd. Concrete is currently being poured across the intersection at Sower Blvd. after FPB Water crews worked through the night to replace the water main line that runs under the road.

If you work in the Sower Complex, you have access to the area from the MLK side. Water service has been restored to all buildings and will be under a boil water advisory for the day.

Emergency Closure of KY 676 at Sower due to FPB Line Repair

***No traffic on 676 east of the Sower intersection.  There will be a 4 foot deep cut with repair across the entire roadway beginning at 630pm***

Update! 5:15pm
Water has been turned off to Sower Complex.
At 6:30pm there will be a full closure of KY 676, just east of Sower Blvd.  FPB will replace the entire water line. 
Detours will be set at Galbraith Road westbound, and at Martin Luther King (KY 1659) on westbound side.  
Any traffic that must access Sower Complex will need to approach from MLK (KY 1659)

Boil Water Advisory Date: 4/12/2023

The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board advises to boil the water before drinking or using it for cooking. The advisory is in effect for the following area:

· 100 To 300 Sower Blvd.

· Flynn Ave.

· Burch Ct.

A vigorous boil for at least three minutes is recommended. This Boil Water Advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the water main caused by Plant Board crews repairing a water main break.

This Advisory will remain in effect until lab analysis of water samples taken confirms that the potable water supply in the affected area is safe to drink. You will receive a notice when the advisory is lifted.

Water main leak at intersection of East-West Connector and Sower Blvd.

The FPB Water Department is working to repair a water main leak at the intersection of the East-West Connector (U.S. 676) and Sower Blvd. Water service to businesses south of the East-West Connector on Sower Blvd. and Flynn Ave. may be affected during the repair.

Boil Water Advisory Cancellation

The Water Department of the Frankfort Plant Board is notifying you that the Division of Water of the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection has now canceled the Boil Water Advisory.

 

This Advisory was issued 4/10/23 due to a loss of pressure in the water main caused by Plant Board crews repairing a water main break. 

The area affected was:

·       100 To 300 Sower Blvd.

·       Flynn Ave. 

·       Burch Ct.

FPB Water crews will be flushing fire hydrants at the following locations on Wednesday April 12, 2023

  • Campbell

  • Second

  • Ewing

  • Buttimer Hill

  • Flynn Ave

  • Myrtle Ave.

Hydrant flushing is necessary to maintain the integrity and quality of the distribution system and to insure hydrants are functioning properly.  This will also allow FPB to obtain firefighting flow information, which is shared with city and county fire departments. 

We ask that motorists please use caution in the flushing areas due to possible water in the roadway.  Some discoloration may occur in your tap water; this is normal.  If discoloration persists after running your faucet for a short time, please call 352-4372.

Budget Billing Announcements

May is the reconciliation month for existing budget customers. All current budget customers will need to pay their account balance in full on or before the due date for their cycle in May. Accounts must be at a zero balance for the budget billing to renew in June.

New budget sign-ups for cycle 1 customers will be April 12 through May 10. Cycle 2 customers can sign up for budget billing April 27 through May 25. Actual budget billing will begin in June.
