On the Job - Fleet Services
/Meet Tommy Roberts, FPB Garage Supervisor and get a look inside the maintenance garage of the Frankfort Plant Board.
For more than 75 years, FPB has powered our community with the most valuable resources that are essential to enrich the quality of life - electric, water, cable, internet and more. Because we are neighbors serving neighbors, our employees are committed to provide exceptional service to our customers in Frankfort and surrounding areas. As a municipal utility, we focus on local needs, provide local jobs and return millions of dollars to the local economy. We also enjoy supporting and participating in community events that enhance the local experience.
In 1943, the City of Frankfort purchased the Tri-City Utilities Company to secure local municipal ownership of utilities, creating the Frankfort Electric and Water Plant Board. In the 76 years since, there have been a lot of changes and technical advances. In 2018, this timeline was unveiled in the lobby of FPB to chart our history.
Service to our customers is why we are in business. We are committed to listen and respond positively to your needs. As a public utility, we are not beholden to corporate shareholders. We are customer-owned, and we appreciate you!
Engaging our community is important to us. We especially like to educate our younger citizens on the services we provide and the skills needed to pursue careers in the utility industry.
