FPB Begins Annual Fire Hydrant Flushing April 18

The Frankfort Plant Board will begin its annual fire hydrant flushing on Monday, April 18, 2016.

Hydrant flushing is necessary to maintain the integrity and quality of the distribution system and to insure hydrants are functioning properly.  This will also allow FPB to obtain firefighting flow information, which is shared with city and county fire departments.

We ask that motorists please use caution in the flushing area due to possible water in the roadway.  Some discoloration may occur in your tap water; this is normal.  If discoloration persists after running your faucet for a short time, please call 352-4372.

We anticipate flushing to last 2-3 months.  For daily updates please tune to 103.7 FM, 104.9 FM, 1490 AM, FPB TV channel 10, our website www.fpb.cc, Facebook (Frankfort Plant Board) or on Twitter @fpbalerts or @fewpb.

FPB Conducts Bill Payment Option Survey

In the continuing effort to improve the customer experience, FPB will be conducting an on-line survey to poll customers on their bill payment preferences.

The survey, conducted through Survey Monkey, will go on-line February 25th and will run through March 31st.

FPB customers can find the survey link on the back of their March bill (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FF6TX67) and on the company’s website (www.fpb.cc/billpaysurvey)

The recently formed FPB Credit Card Committee created the survey in hopes of better understanding the payment habits of customers and to examine the customers’ potential desire to use credit and/or debit cards as a preferred option.

FPB currently takes payments in a variety of ways: cash, check, money order, credit/debit card (with a fee of $3.95), automatic bank draft and auto bill pay through the customer’s personal banking institution. The full list can be seen here.

FPB Customer Service Supervisor Cassie Estill says this is an important step in helping make the customer experience a positive one. “Customer satisfaction is our number one priority. While we strive to make every single interaction with our customers a positive one, we realize there is always room for improvement. We hope that our customers will participate in this survey so we can get a really good handle on what method of payment they would prefer.”

WARNING: Scam Alert

FPB recently received calls from people that live in other states inquiring about monetary sums being withdrawn from their individual bank accounts, marked to pay FPB. The charges are typically under $100 and the memo line lists either Frankfort Electric & Water or Frankfort, KY Electric as the recipient of the payment.

This is a possible scam and the transactions are likely fraudulent. FPB is not receiving any of these payments, as we aren’t drafting any of these accounts.

If customers see a charge that seems potentially fraudulent, please contact your financial institution.
